Hello Everyone,
I wanted to kick things off in the introductions section. My name is Jacob Kukuk, and I’m the Founder and Director of Vegas Open Network.
I started VONet because internet access is a basic need, yet too many people in Las Vegas are still left offline. High costs, unreliable service, and missing infrastructure keep families from staying connected. VONet exists to change that by building a fair, community owned network that’s open to everyone and free from corporate control.
A little about me: I’ve worked in IT and infrastructure for over 15 years across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. My focus has always been on building systems that empower people and solve real problems. I live in Las Vegas with my wife and four children, and this project is rooted in the kind of future I want for them, a city where access to the internet is not a privilege but a shared public resource.
I’m excited to connect with you all and grow this community together.
